Ellerslie Farms Group is an agribusiness that operates one of the largest poultry farms in Australia.

We employ over 500 people across our farming operations based at Millmerran, an hour west of Toowoomba in Queensland.

Our operations are vertically integrated, covering the entire supply chain from chick rearing, grain production, stock feed milling, egg grading and poultry production.

About The Role
n
You will be required to consult and collaborate with
Divisional/Departmental
Managers, and any others as necessary to perform tasks.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Carry out maintenance and repairs to all light vehicles, heavy vehicles and heavy machinery.
n
Assist with the Management of heavy machinery inspections.
n
Coordinate regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles.
n
Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
n
Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
n
Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
n
Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
n




Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
n
Work with fleet manager and procurement to enable purchasing, savings, replacements and best utilisation of vehicles and stock.
n
Monitor inventory and order new parts, lubricants, oils etc when necessary.
n
Training and supervision of apprentices and junior labourers when required.
n
Requirement to attend potential call outs as required.

About You
n
Essential requirements of the role
n
n
Diesel Mechanic Qualification or Petrol Mechanic with Diesel/heavy machinery experience
n
Drivers Licence
n
Construction Card (Blue or White)
n
n
Desirable Requirements Of The Role
n
n
Ability to plan and manage workload.
n
Ability to manage a team.
n
Hold a HR or greater truck license.
n
Hold a current A/C ticket.
n
Have a robust physical fitness level, with the ability to regularly complete highly physical tasks;
n
Have a "can do" attitude by working cooperatively and efficiently to meet daily production requirements in a small team;
n
Assisting contractors when necessary;
n
Operating hand and power tools of all types;
n
Operating farm machinery, vehicles & plant equipment;
n
Be accountable for the work completed;
n
Be able to work unsupervised;
n
Be reliable, and be flexible to work extra hours if and when required;
n
Demonstrate effective communication skills;
n
Participate in any relevant training to ensure on-going compliance with policies and procedures.

What else do I need?
n
n
A passion for Agriculture and a genuine interest in working in a rural area and on rural machinery;
n
Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills;
n
A valid drivers' licence and your own transport;
n
Strong physical fitness, with the ability to work in dirty or dusty environments, work at heights, work in confined spaces, or work outside in all types of weather.
n
