The Opportunity
n
AWLQ is currently looking for a full-time Rehoming Supervisor to join our Willawong Animal Rehoming Centre. If you're passionate about making a direct impact on animal welfare, we'd love to talk to you.

The Rehoming Supervisor's role is to assist the Rehoming Manager and the Assistant Manager to supervise the day-to-day operations of the Centre, progressing animals through the Centre efficiently and effectively to maximise animal welfare and rehoming, and to minimise euthanasia.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide animal care, including cleaning enclosures, feeding and administering medications.
n
Provide customer service, including adoption and surrender counselling and processing.
n
Complete animal behaviour assessments and management plans.
n
Operate and ensure the team performs in accordance with AWLQ protocols, policies, values, mission and beliefs.
n
Ensure the smooth running of the Centre in the absence of the Rehoming Manager.
n
Motivate and provide clear direction to the team relating to operational activities, performance and AWLQ goals.
n
Work closely with the Rehoming Managers to ensure seamless animal movement and communication of person and animal cases.
n
Appropriately manage conflict with customers and within the team, maintaining a resilient, positive and composed leadership style to devise effective solutions within appropriate timeframes.

Assist with the training of staff and welcome new staff.
n

Essential Qualifications and Experience
n
n
Current driver's licence.
n
Dog and cat care experience in a facility or shelter.
n
High volume, intensive customer service experience.
n
Demonstrated affinity with animals, experience in animal welfare or council pounds.
n
Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate others to achieve high productivity and standards of work.
n
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Qualification in animal behaviour or dog training.
n
Certificate III in Animal Studies (highly desired).
n
Relevant customer service training and de-escalation training.
n
