The Great Southern Hotel Melbourne (GSH-Melbourne) is a busy 4-star hotel located in the heart of Melbourne CBD. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Casual Maintenance / Handyperson to join our team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail and is committed to maintaining a protected, comfortable and well-presented hotel for our guests
n
Key responsibilities
n
Carrying out general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel
n
Assisting with plumbing, carpentry, painting, grouting and other general maintenance tasks
n
Conducting preventative maintenance and addressing maintenance issues promptly
n
Maintaining hotel facilities, rooms and common areas to a high standard
n
Identifying and reporting maintenance issues that require further attention
n
Supporting the wider hotel team with maintenance-related requests
n
Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests
n
About you
n
Previous experience in a general maintenance, handyperson or similar role
n
Practical knowledge of plumbing, painting, carpentry and general repairs




n
Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
n
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
n
A proactive, self-motivated and hands-on approach
n
Good communication and interpersonal skills
n
A reliable and professional work ethic
n
The ability to prioritise tasks and respond effectively to maintenance requests
n
A commitment to maintaining high standards and providing excellent service
n
Flexibility to work a rotating roster, with 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM shifts preferred
n
Casual position with consistent shifts
n
High-occupancy hotel with regular maintenance requirements
n
