About the Role
BlueRock Healthcare is seeking two compassionate, reliable and experienced Support Workers to provide consistent, ongoing support to a participant living in Newtown.
The role involves supporting the participant with daily living, personal care, community access and emotional wellbeing, with approximately 6 hours of support per day, 6 days per week.
We are looking to fill these positions as soon as possible, with consistency and reliability being essential to the role.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, reliable and person-centred support across scheduled shifts
Build a trusting and respectful professional relationship with the participant
Support with personal care, daily living activities and meal preparation
Assist with community access, appointments, activities and transport
Provide calm, patient and sensitive support during periods of emotional distress or crisis
Respond appropriately to behaviours of concern, using a calm and supportive approach
Follow relevant behaviour support strategies, support plans and directions from the participant's support team
Support the participant to maintain their choice, control, dignity and independence
Encourage participation in the community and activities that align with the participant's interests and goals
Provide appropriate support during healthcare or hospital-related transitions where required




Advocate for the participant's rights, preferences and needs
Recognise changes in presentation and communicate relevant concerns to the appropriate members of the support team
Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and respectful communication at all times
Work collaboratively with the participant, Support Coordinator and broader support network to promote safe, consistent and high-quality support
About You
Experience supporting people with complex psychosocial disability, mental health needs, behaviours of concern and crises will be highly regarded.

Calm and confident when responding to distress
Experienced in supporting people with psychosocial disability
Comfortable providing personal care and community-based support
Able to build trust and strong professional relationships
Respectful of participant choice, control and autonomy
Confident using appropriate communication and de-escalation strategies
Committed to providing stable and ongoing support
The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, emotional sensitivity and consistency, with the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
