Your new role
Rockhampton Regional Council is seeking an experienced and motivated finance leader to join our Finance team as Coordinator Accounting Services.
In this role, you will provide high-level accounting, financial, and managerial support within the Finance section, and in conjunction coordinate the annual budget and revisions, external financial reporting and audit processes.
Through the provision of timely and accurate reporting, you will support informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your primary focus will be on cultivating a high-performing, results-oriented team by managing the unit's various functions and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness.
This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and results-driven leader who is passionate about developing people, improving processes and influencing strategic outcomes within a large and complex organisation.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
Degree qualifications in Accounting,
together with demonstrated leadership experience in a large and diverse organisation, preferably within Local Government.
Solid experience in budgeting, financial reporting, long-term planning, and compliance with statutory requirements.
Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams while driving accountability and continuous improvement.
Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide high-level financial advice to a broad range of stakeholders.
