Beacon Legal has partnered with a leading global engineering and construction company in the search for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Brisbane office. This opportunity would suit a lawyer with around 8 years' experience who is looking to step into a broad and commercially significant role.

We're seeking a commercially minded and proactive construction lawyer to join a high-performing legal team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of front-end construction and project development work and the chance to work closely with a business operating in the infrastructure, energy and resources sectors. You'll be part of a well-regarded in-house team supporting major, complex projects across Australia and globally.

About the Role
n

Lead and support the negotiation and drafting of a broad range of construction and project-related contracts.
n
Advise on legal and commercial risks across major infrastructure and resources projects.
n
Support stakeholders across project, procurement and commercial teams.
n
Manage external counsel where required.
n
Assist with governance and internal compliance processes.
n
Contribute to strategic project delivery and business growth initiatives.

What we're looking for
n
n
Admitted to practise in Australia.
n
Around 8 years' experience in construction, gained in private practice or in-house.
n
Strong front-end transactional experience, with exposure to construction contracts.
n
Experience in the mining sector is advantageous but not essential.
n
A mix of transactional and disputes experience will be considered.
n
Strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
n
A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach.
n
Excellent communication, drafting and problem-solving ability.
n
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving workplace.
