Seven Seeds Coffee Roasters - Group Head Chef

The Head Chef is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for food operations across all Seven Seeds Group venues - balancing creative direction, active kitchen involvement, and commercial accountability. Most of your time is spent in kitchens across the group: developing menus, improving execution, mentoring teams and setting the standards and systems across the business.

Key responsibilities

Lead seasonal menu development across all venues, on-brand and cost-tested
n
Oversee pastry and baking programs for consistency and commercial viability
n
Test, cost and roll out new dishes with clear execution guidelines
n
Work actively in kitchens across the group, leading by example
n
Support venues through busy services and key transitions
n
Mentor chefs, cooks, bakers and prep teams directly
n
Maintain and progress food quality, presentation, cleanliness and workflow
n
Build standardised recipes, prep methods, portion control, and plating standards
n
Set production schedules for prep and pastry kitchens
n




Ensure compliance with food safety, OH&S;, and regulatory standards
n

About you
n
Robust background in both savoury and pastry/baking operations
n
Proven at running multiple kitchens and production environments at once
n
Financially literate - comfortable owning budgets and benchmarks
n
Confident setting KPIs and being accountable to them
n
Commercially minded, creative but execution-focused
n
A hands-on leader who wants to be in the kitchen, not just above it
n
