Role Overview
The Plumber is responsible for supporting the delivery and upkeep of essential water, sewerage and drainage infrastructure across the region.
Reporting to the Water and Sewerage Supervisor, this role combines construction, maintenance and operational duties to ensure Council services are reliable, compliant and safe.
This position suits a qualified Plumber seeking a varied, hands-on role, working outdoors while contributing to critical community infrastructure within a supportive Council team.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out plumbing and drainage works across construction, maintenance and operational activities
Plan and manage allocated tasks including coordinating resources
Offer technical guidance on plumbing and drainage matters to stakeholders
Perform inspections and testing of water and sewerage systems in line with regulations
Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, standards and codes
Maintain accurate records to support compliance and reporting requirements
Identify equipment faults and report maintenance needs
Support and guide apprentices through on-the-job training
Assist with monitoring and testing of water quality
Contribute to a multi-skilled team, including undertaking general labouring duties when required
Participate in after-hours call-outs as part of the on-call roster
Qualifications and Experience
Trade qualification in Plumbing and Draining
Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Experience in plumbing, drainage, and maintenance within a similar environment
Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team
Sound knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance
Additional certifications (e.g. backflow prevention, restricted electrical, solar or heat pump systems)
HR Driver's Licence
Plant operation tickets
Confined Space Entry certification
