The Chance We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to join a well-established importer, wholesaler and distribution business in a flexible part-time capacity (4 days per week) for a 13-month fixed term contract role.
This is an excellent prospect for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of financial reporting, cash flow management, inventory accounting and finance operations within a dynamic operational environment.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be the key finance contact for the business, partnering with operational teams and providing timely financial insights to support decision-making.
This is a broad and varied role that combines financial control, management reporting, inventory accounting, compliance and commercial support responsibilities.
The business operates in an inventory-intensive environment, making stock accounting accuracy critical to financial performance, reporting integrity and commercial outcomes.
Candidates with strong inventory, costing and stock control experience will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities Own month-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and reporting Prepare monthly management accounts, including P L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting Complete balance sheet, bank and general ledger reconciliations Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital reporting Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support business performance Prepare BAS, GST and other compliance reporting requirements Coordinate year-end reporting,
audit processes and statutory obligations Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable processes Perform monthly inventory reconciliations between operational and financial systems Review inventory movements, adjustments and stock valuation accuracy Analyse inventory variances, cost movements and gross margin performance Investigate discrepancies and recommend process improvements and stronger controls Partner with operations, procurement and supply chain teams to ensure inventory integrity Support ERP reporting and system process improvements Identify opportunities to enhance financial controls, reporting and business processes Act as a trusted finance partner to the CFO and wider business About You To be successful, you will bring: CA, CPA or equivalent qualification Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager Strong financial reporting, month-end and reconciliation experience Demonstrated experience with inventory, stock and cost accounting Experience within wholesale, importing, manufacturing, distribution or other inventory-driven environments Solid commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills Experience using Infor M3 or similar ERP and financial systems Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work autonomously in a standalone, hands-on role while managing competing priorities If you are a hands-on Finance Manager or Controller with solid inventory accounting expertise and enjoy working in operationally complex businesses, we would love to hear from you.
