If you love diving into the detail while keeping the big picture in mind, this could be your perfect fit.
What You'll Actually Be Doing This role sits right at the heart of compliance, where you'll be making sure breaches are managed properly, reported on time, and that we're constantly learning and improving.
Here's what that looks like day-to-day: Run the show on breach governance which includes coordinating forums, prep submissions and agendas, keep track of decisions and actions Dig into the detail and by this we mean assess incidents against regulations, codes, and our own policies to work out what's actually happened and what we need to do about it Handle regulatory reporting to help prepare and lodge notifications to regulators within required timeframes Be the trusted advisor by giving practical, timely advice to the business on breach obligations and how to navigate them Challenge the status quo in a positive way.
You will work with Group Risk and Legal to review breach decisions and make sure we're getting it right Spot the patterns by analysing breach data to identify trends, themes, and emerging risks Build capability to support training and awareness programs so the whole business gets better at managing breaches Drive continuous improvement to help evolve our frameworks, policies, and processes so we stay ahead of the curve What You'll Bring We're looking for someone who's been around the block in compliance or risk, ideally in insurance or financial services.
Here's what we'd love to see: Proven experience in compliance, risk, legal, or similar roles in a regulated environment (insurance, banking, or super) Hands on breach or incident management experience; you've done this before and know what good looks like Solid regulatory knowledge; you understand general insurance obligations and can translate them into action A relevant qualification in Law, Risk, Business, Compliance, or similar (bonus points for professional memberships) What'll Make You Successful Beyond the CV, here's what'll help you thrive in this role: Strategic but practical; you can take complex regulations and turn them into something the business can actually work with Detail obsessed; accuracy matters in compliance, and you don't let things slip through the cracks Great with people; you build trust easily and can influence across Risk, Legal, and the wider business Excellent communicator; you can explain tricky compliance stuff to anyone, whether it's the CEO or a frontline team Comfortable with ambiguity; you can move quick, make decisions, and adapt in a dynamic environment Improvement-minded; you're always thinking about how we can do things better Who We Are Auto General (A G) has been shaking up the Aussie insurance scene since ****.
