Job description We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT Service Desk Officer to join a busy Federal Government technology team in Townsville.
This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting users and working across a broad range of hardware and software environments.
The Opportunity In this role, you will provide first and second-level IT support , resolving software, hardware and peripheral issues while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key responsibilities will include: Providing timely and accurate end-user technical support.
Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
Supporting desktop, notebook, mobile, printer, AV and video conferencing equipment.
Assisting with software configuration, upgrades, security updates and troubleshooting.
Maintaining IT asset and configuration records.
Creating and updating user guides, FAQs, procedures and knowledgebase content.
Identifying process inefficiencies and contributing to service improvements.
Escalating complex technical issues where required.
Participating in operational support activities as required.
About You You will be a proactive IT professional with strong technical troubleshooting skills and a genuine commitment to customer service.
Ideally, you will bring: Experience providing help desk or service desk support.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Intune.
Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
IT qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
Experience with Standard Operating Environments, configuration databases, networked peripherals, mobile devices and user documentation will be highly regarded.
The Details The role is based in Townsville, QLD, with an ASAP start through to 29 January ****.
This is a full-time position during business hours, offering $***** per hour plus superannuation.
