About the Role
n
Reporting to the Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the organisation's tax obligations are met accurately and on time. The position offers exposure to a broad range of taxation matters across a complex group structure and will suit a technically strong professional looking to further develop their corporate tax career.
n
You will work closely with finance teams across the business, providing guidance on tax compliance matters while supporting broader projects and process improvement initiatives.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Review and monitor BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and Income Tax obligations
n
Ensure compliance with relevant Federal and State taxation requirements
n
Review tax workpapers, reconciliations and supporting documentation
n
Provide taxation advice and support to finance teams across the business
n
Conduct tax research and assist with interpreting legislative changes
n
Manage tax compliance deadlines and lodgement schedules
n
Liaise with external tax advisors and professional service firms
n
Support ATO and State Revenue Office reviews, audits and information requests
n
Assist with tax-related projects, business acquisitions, restructures and due diligence activities
n
Contribute to tax process improvements, systems enhancements and reporting efficiencies
n
Deliver training and guidance to internal stakeholders where required
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
n
n
CA or CPA qualification (or be actively working towards completion)
n
3-5 years' taxation experience within public practice or a corporate environment
n
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance obligations
n
Excellent analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills
n
Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with financial systems
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
High attention to detail and organisational skills
n
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
n
