Job Description
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the broader management team, this is a hands-on position suited to an accountant who enjoys working closely with management and operational teams and has a strong understanding of the financial and commercial aspects of project-based businesses.

Key responsibilities

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
n
Project and job cost reporting and analysis
n
Work in Progress (WIP) reporting and reconciliation
n
Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
n
Monitoring project performance, margins and costs
n
Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger management
n
Liasing with Tax Accountant
n
Accounts payable and receivable oversight
n
Supporting month-end and year-end processes
n
Assisting management with financial analysis and commercial decision-making
n

About you
n




n
Previous experience as a Management Accountant, Commercial Accountant or similar
n
Experience within the construction, civil or contracting industries preferred
n
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP and project-based accounting
n
Experience with Workbench highly regarded
n
Experience with MYOB
n
CPA/CA qualification or working towards qualification preferred
n
Robust attention to detail and organisational skills
n
The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance staff
n
A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to become involved across all areas of the finance function
