Carpentaria Shire Council is seeking an experienced, progressive executive leader to join its Executive Leadership Team as Director Corporate Services.
n
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this pivotal role provides strategic leadership across finance, ICT, procurement, records management, local laws, property, strategic planning and business improvement.
n

About the Role
n
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team,
you will help shape Council's strategic direction while leading a diverse portfolio that includes:
n
n
Finance and administration
n
Budget development and financial reporting
n
ICT operations and business systems
n
Procurement and stores
n
Records and information management
n
Audit, Risk and compliance
n
Local laws administration
n
Property, leases, licences and insurance management
n
Strategic planning, business improvement and performance reporting
n
Grants and investment management
n
n
You will lead and mentor a team of managers and specialist officers while building organisational capability, strengthening the organisation through best practice governance principles and driving a culture of continuous improvement across Council.
n
About You
n
You are a highly capable executive with the vision, leadership and commercial acumen to succeed in a complex and multifaceted environment.
n
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
n
n
Senior leadership experience within local government or a comparable organisation
n
Experience managing diverse corporate services portfolios such as finance, ICT, business support and community-facing functions
n
Strong financial and budget management capability
n
Proven ability to lead organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
n
Experience working with elected representatives, executives,
government agencies and community stakeholders
n
Outstanding communication, relationship-building and influencing skills
n
Sound understanding of governance, risk management and legislative compliance
n
A track record of building high-performing teams and developing organisational capability
n
n
The following will be highly regarded:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, Project Management, Law, Local Government or a related discipline
n
Advanced management qualifications
n
Professional registration or accreditation relevant to the portfolio
n
