Position Overview
n
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team at Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the Food & Beverage operation by assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring all dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a quick-paced kitchen environment and is committed to delivering exceptional food experiences.

Key Responsibilities
n
Assist with food preparation, cooking, and presentation in line with menu specifications and kitchen standards.
n
Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and delivered in a timely manner during service.
n
Maintain a clean, organised, and secure kitchen environment at all times.
n
Monitor stock levels, assist with receiving deliveries, and ensure correct storage of food and ingredients.
n
Reduce wastage through proper stock control and adherence to kitchen procedures.
n
Follow all food safety, hygiene,



and WHS guidelines, including HACCP and food handling standards.
n
Prepare mise-en-place and support the kitchen team to ensure smooth and productive service.
n
Attend team briefings, training sessions, and actively contribute to a collaborative kitchen environment.
n
Maintain high standards of personal presentation, punctuality, and professionalism.
n
Support colleagues during busy service periods to ensure an excellent guest dining experience.
n
What We're Looking For

Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar hospitality environment.
n
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
n
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
n
A team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
n
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
n
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
