About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting a participant living with a high-level spinal cord injury in Salisbury, Brisbane.
n
This role involves high-complex personal care and requires staff who are confident working within established clinical care routines. Applicants with spinal cord injury experience are highly encouraged to apply.
n
Available Shifts
n
n
Monday to Friday: 6:30 AM – 10:45 AM
n
Monday to Sunday: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
n
Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM – 11:15 AM
n
n
Multiple shifts are available, with the opportunity to build a consistent roster.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
High-complex personal care
n
Hoist transfers and manual handling
n
Showering, dressing and grooming
n
Pressure area care and skin integrity monitoring
n
Meal preparation and assistance
n
Domestic assistance
n
Accurate documentation within ShiftCare
n
Monitoring for signs and symptoms of Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD)



and responding appropriately in accordance with the participant's care plan
n
Experience supporting participants with spinal cord injuries
n
Competency with hoist transfers and manual handling
n
Experience with bowel care, including Digital Stimulation and Enema administration, or willingness to successfully complete Angelic Care training
n
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the recognition and management of Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD)
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Current First Aid & CPR
n
Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
n
Strong communication and documentation skills
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability, Ageing or equivalent), or a relevant health qualification
n
Experience supporting participants with high-level spinal cord injuries
n
Experience in rehabilitation, disability support or nursing environments
n
Medication competency and other high-intensity support skills
n
n
