Purpose
n
You will provide safe, therapeutic and trauma-informed support to young people aged ***** years, promoting their emotional wellbeing, stability and development. It focuses on building trusting relationships, supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviours, and responding effectively to crises and identified risks.
n
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team, the role supports young people to develop resilience, independence, life skills and meaningful connections with their families, peers and community. It also contributes to maintaining a safe, structured and nurturing home environment where young people feel respected, supported and empowered to achieve positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate
n
n
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or the ability to obtain
n
Demonstrated experience working in residential care, youth services, or Out of Home Care programs
n
Genuine passion for supporting children and young people to live their best life using a person-centred approach
n
Knowledge of child protection legislation, care standards, and trauma-informed care.
n
Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, with experience working in cross cultural contexts
n
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and accurate reports and sound computer skills
n
Flexibility to work various shifts including both short and long shifts on weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, sleepovers and public holidays
n
