About The Opportunity
n
MGC are seeking experienced Project Engineers to join our team and support delivery of major projects in Queensland and regional NSW based out of our Brisbane office .
n
We are looking for candidates who have 5 – 10 years' experience working within brownfield rail projects (QR, Aurizon, Inland Rail, and ARTC Networks) who can demonstrate strong leadership, coordination, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement, safety, quality, and compliance in a fast paced and operationally critical environment.

Your Day-to-day Activities Will Include
n
n
Apply engineering principles to develop practical, economical solutions and support productive project delivery.
n
Plan and deliver construction and maintenance projects, including scoping, budgets, scheduling, WBS, risk management and project controls. Advanced MS Project competency required.
n
Coordinate rail shutdowns and track possessions, including planning,
T-minus applications and interfaces with clients and Tier 1 Contractors.
n
Provide strong safety leadership, ensuring risks are proactively managed and safety, environmental, quality, cost and engineering requirements are met.
n
Develop and review technical reports, engineering standards, procedures, work instructions and project documentation, including ITPs, method statements, site records and audits.
n
Provide technical advice, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement across track, civil and rail systems projects.
n
Manage relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and delivery of contractual and commercial requirements.
n
Lead planning activities, coordinate project dependencies and gain stakeholder buy-in while supporting and mentoring team members.
n

About You
n
You're a proactive, organised, solutions-focused, and commercially adept professional who thrives in a fast-paced and high-performing working environment.
n
You Will Bring
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical Engineering or a related field, with 5–10 years' experience in track,
civil or systems engineering within an operational rail environment.
n
Demonstrated experience leading site engineers, trade supervisors or multidisciplinary technical teams across maintenance, renewals, investigations, standards or technical governance.
n
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, track geometry, CSR (pit and pipe trench), formation, drainage and structures, with rail construction experience highly valued.
n
Experience in project scoping, forecasting, risk management and technical reporting, with knowledge of QR, Aurizon, ARTC, RISSB and relevant AS/NZS standards and codes of practice.
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making. Current C Class Driver's Licence and strong MS Office skills essential.
