Role Overview
n
We are seeking an experienced IBM MQ / DataPower Delivery Consultant to lead the assessment, upgrade, migration, and security uplift of IBM MQ Appliances across multiple environments.
n
This is a hands-on delivery role requiring deep technical expertise in messaging platforms, high availability configurations, and enterprise integration architecture.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead assessment and review of existing IBM MQ appliance environments (standalone and HA)
n
Analyse deployment patterns, resilience, and dependencies (IAM, SIEM, cloud integrations)
n
Define target architecture and technical design for upgraded environments
n
Configure and implement IBM MQ M**** appliances
n
Plan and execute end-to-end migration across environments (Dev → Production/DR)
n
Support cutover, validation, and stabilisation activities post go-live
n
Review and enhance MQ security models and implement improvements
n
Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams and stakeholders
n
Assist with issue resolution and performance tuning post-implementationn
Required Skills & Experience
n
n
10+ years' experience with IBM MQ, including MQ Appliances
n
Strong expertise in high availability, clustering, and messaging architecture
n
Proven experience delivering complex integration or messaging solutions
n
n
Desirable Experience
n
n
Experience with large-scale migrations and production cutovers
n
Strong understanding of enterprise security (IAM, certificates, SIEM)
n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and delivery capability
n
n
