About the position...
As an integral part of the TBSO Pathways team, the Employment Pathways Officer (EPO) supports our online students with connections to industry and vocational training (both online and face to face) that lead to nationally recognised qualifications, work experience placements, school-based apprenticeships and traineeships and future employment pathways.
This role provides a personalised case management approach, advising students on possible career pathways (through both face to face and digital platforms) and actively engages students with employers and training providers.
You will establish and manage a work experience and volunteering program for students (including virtual experiences) and source relevant training opportunities, ensuring that students are enrolled in quality, recognised training which supports their pathway.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to show innovation and create opportunities for students in both traditional industries and the ever-expanding digital workforce.
Students enrolled at TBSO are located throughout Queensland, so the EPO for TBSO needs to be able to think outside the box in order to support our students.
Currently the role is based out of TBS Strathpine campus however the opportunity for a hybrid role, or base from another TBS campus, may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The BUSY School Online (TBSO) is an online platform of the BUSY School, which is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting nearly 50 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services.
The BUSY School (TBS) is an independent Queensland Special Assistance School offering alternative education for students in Years 11 and 12 who have disengaged from mainstream education.
The BUSY School Online (TBSO) is a platform offered by TBS that provides an alternative, flexible, high-support online education pathway for young people in Years 11 and 12 who face significant barriers.
TBSO provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes online curriculum, vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.
Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement,
career exploration and employment outcomes.
Our teams' focus is centred at removing barriers so students can learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student's graduation from Year 12.
About you.

Proven ability to develop cooperative working relationships with broad range of stakeholders to ensure outcomes for students are achieved Knowledge and experience in supporting students with vocational education pathways (including digital pathways), ideally with experience with the Australian School Based Apprenticeship program Excellent communicator, a promoter who is influential with the ability to seek and secure opportunities for students Experience with, or an ability to, facilitate training programs online is desirable A Certificate III or equivalent in relevant field of study is desirable Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes Next steps...
