An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Team Lead to join this organisation and take ownership of its payroll compliance, optimisation and remediation work. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Lead and develop a small payroll team, setting clear priorities and supporting them through complex work
n
Drive key payroll initiatives end to end, spanning business optimisation, compliance and process improvement
n
Manage the calculation and payment of back-pay and remediation claims, including intricate adjustments and interest components
n
Keep payroll running to standard through regular auditing and review of pay outcomes before and after each cycle
n




Spot potential risks early, shape practical solutions and guide the team and stakeholders through implementation
n
Partner closely with stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams through to senior leadership
n
Champion smarter ways of working across processes, controls and payroll technology
n
Set the standards for governance, quality and team performance and make sure they stick
n
To be considered for this role, you will be a payroll subject matter expert with 8–9 years' experience, including time leading a team within a complex payroll environment. You bring in-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, solid organisational skills and a proven track record across compliance, remediation and optimisation work. Detail-focused and discreet, you combine strong technical and systems expertise with the ability to lead a high-performing team.
