This role will be based at HOTA, Home of the Arts. HOTA is an iconic Gold Coast destination where art, entertainment, culture and lifestyle meet. A place that locals love and visitors must-see. HOTA offers a diverse suite of venues and facilities, including a gallery, outdoor stage, indoor theatres and cinemas, function and events rooms, as well as a range of food and beverage venues including the HOTA Café, the rooftop Exhibitionist Bar and three hat Palette Restaurant.

As aKitchen Attendant,



you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen during service.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Maintain Cleanliness & Hygiene: Ensure the kitchen and all work areas are kept clean, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
n
Support the Team: Help by checking off and properly storing incoming stock to ensure the kitchen is fully stocked and organised.
n
Assist with Food Prep: Support chefs by assisting with basic food preparation tasks under the guidance of a senior team member.
n
Follow Safety & Cleanliness Protocols: Adhere to food safety standards and cleanliness protocols, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.
n
Assist Kitchen Staff: Lend a hand to chefs and other kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, ensuring smooth kitchen operations during service.
n
Organise & Manage Kitchen Equipment: Ensure that all kitchen equipment is clean, safe, and in proper working order, assisting with maintenance as required.
n
Waste Management: Help with the proper disposal and recycling of waste, keeping the kitchen tidy and environmentally responsible.
n
Assist with Stock Rotation:



Help maintain proper stock rotation to ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in our dishes.

What We're Looking For
n
n
Previous experience in a Kitchen Attendant or similar role
n
A good understanding of food safety standards and relevant legislation
n
Experience working safely with kitchen equipment and utensils
n
Knowledge of manual handling techniques to safely lift and carry kitchen items
n
Solid attention to detail and a willingness to work hard in a fast‐paced environment
n
A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
n
