We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a major mining operation in Papua New Guinea on a ***** FIFO roster from any Australian capital city.
n
This is a key leadership appointment with a explicit mandate - build and lead a proactive, planned and reliability-focused maintenance function capable of supporting current operations, increasing mining activity and future operational requirements.
n
We're looking for a maintenance leader, not simply a senior tradesperson. You'll bring strong heavy mobile equipment knowledge, but your real value will be your ability to build the systems, people, planning and reliability capability that drive fleet performance.
n
The Role
n
Reporting into site leadership, you will take ownership of the maintenance function with a focus on:
n
n
Driving maintenance planning, scheduling, PM compliance and backlog management
n
Improving mobile fleet availability, reliability and component life
n
Reducing repeat failures and unplanned downtime through RCA and condition monitoring
n
Planning and executing shutdowns,



rebuilds and major maintenance activities
n
Building operational readiness across people, systems, workshops, tooling, spares and fleet
n
Developing Supervisors and national team members while establishing clear standards and accountability
n
Working closely with Mining Operations to align maintenance priorities with the production plan
n
Managing maintenance budgets, contractors, parts and lifecycle costs
n
Leading the transition from reactive maintenance toward a structured, reliability-driven culture
n
n
About You
n
You will be an experienced mining maintenance leader with a track record of managing large heavy mobile equipment fleets in demanding operating environments.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
Significant maintenance leadership experience within mining
n
Strong mobile mining fleet and heavy equipment knowledge
n
Demonstrated planning, scheduling and reliability capability
n
Experience improving fleet availability and maintenance performance
n
Strong leadership and team development skills
n
Commercial understanding across budgets, contractors, rebuilds and lifecycle costs
n
Experience in remote, international or developing-country operations will be highly regarded
n
A practical, hands-on leadership style combined with the ability to drive long-term improvement
n
