With 60 years of experience across mining and civil earthmoving, MacKellar delivers large-scale mining services across Australia. We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our team at the Carmichael Mine in Central Queensland.
n
This is a hands‐on, site‐based HR role where you'll partner closely with operational leaders, provide practical HR advice and support employee relations, performance and workforce matters.

About the Role
n
As an HR Advisor, you'll provide day‐to‐day HR support across site, working closely with supervisors, managers and employees to help maintain a safe, compliant and high‐performing workplace.
n
You'll be responsible for:
n
n
Providing practical HR advice across employee relations and people management
n
Supporting performance management, investigations, grievances, misconduct and disciplinary matters
n
Preparing HR documentation including warnings, investigation outcomes,



performance improvement plans and termination correspondence
n
Coaching leaders on employment legislation, Enterprise Agreement interpretation and HR best practice
n
Supporting fitness for work, return‐to‐work and absenteeism matters in partnership with the Health team
n
Building solid relationships with leaders and employees across site
n
Working with Payroll, Travel and Site Administration to resolve employee and roster‐related matters
n
Supporting HR projects, initiatives and continuous improvement activities
n
Escalating complex employee relations matters where appropriate
n
n
About You
n
You're a confident HR professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and providing practical, solutions‐focused advice.
n
You'll bring:
n
n
Previous experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role
n
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
n
Experience across employee relations, investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes
n
Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements
n
Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
n
Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
n
A practical and approachable style with the confidence to work with leaders at all levels
n
Experience in mining, construction, civil, manufacturing or another industrial environment will be highly regarded
n
