Job Description
An opportunity is available for an experienced Leading Hand Boilermaker / Fabrication Technician to join an established business in the transport and heavy fabrication industry based in Rocklea.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll remain on the tools while leading a team of Service Technicians, coordinating workshop activities and providing technical guidance. You'll be involved in the fabrication, welding, assembly and fitting of heavy vehicle bodies, trailers and transport equipment.

Duties
n
n
Leading and supporting a team of Service Technicians
n
Allocating daily tasks and coordinating workshop workflow
n
Hands-on boilermaking, fabrication and welding
n
Fabricating, assembling and fitting heavy vehicle bodies and trailers
n
MIG and TIG welding
n
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication plans
n
Troubleshooting fabrication issues and providing practical solutions
n
Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and specification requirements are met
n
Supporting toolbox talks, risk assessments and workplace safety
n
Leading by example across safety, quality and workmanship
n

Skills & Experience
n
n
Trade Qualified Boilermaker, Fabricator or Vehicle Body Builder
n
Strong fabrication and welding experience
n
Experience with trailers, heavy vehicle bodies, transport equipment or heavy fabrication
n
Proven MIG and/or TIG welding skills
n
Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
n
Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience highly regarded
n
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
n
Good communication and leadership skills
n
