The Role
n
We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Platform & API Engineer to join a high-performing Cloud and Digital Platforms team.
n
This is a senior hands-on role focused on leading the design, migration, engineering, automation, and operational support of enterprise Kubernetes platforms and API ecosystems. You will play a key role in platform modernisation initiatives, multi-cluster Kubernetes migrations, API platform engineering, security implementation, and DevOps automation programs.
n
The role requires a strong technical leader who can work across architecture, engineering, security, operations, and delivery teams while driving platform reliability, scalability, governance, and engineering excellence.
n
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across Kubernetes, API management, cloud-native technologies, and DevOps practices,



with a proven track record delivering enterprise-scale platforms within complex environments.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Lead the engineering, migration, and support of enterprise Kubernetes and container platforms.
n
Design, develop, and administer APIs using Apigee Edge (OPDK).
n
Drive API governance, lifecycle management, and security standards.
n
Develop microservices and integration solutions supporting enterprise applications.
n
Implement security controls including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, TLS, and mTLS.
n
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps deployments, and platform automation.
n
Support integrations with enterprise systems, databases, and external partners.
n
Implement monitoring, logging, observability, and operational support capabilities.
n
Collaborate with architecture, security, engineering, and delivery teams.
n
Drive platform reliability, automation, continuous improvement, and engineering best practices.
n

What You'll Need
n
n
Experience in Platform Engineering, API Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles.
n
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, Open CaaS, or enterprise container platforms.
n
Proven experience delivering multi-cluster Kubernetes migration projects.
n
Extensive experience with Apigee Edge (OPDK)



development and administration.
n
Robust knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and API lifecycle management.
n
Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, API key management, TLS, and mTLS.
n
Experience developing microservices using Node.js, TypeScript, Java, or similar technologies.
n
Strong CI/CD and DevOps experience using GitLab, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, and automation tooling.
n
Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
n
Experience integrating with enterprise applications, databases, and external systems.
n
Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
n
Strong Agile delivery experience using Jira and Scrum.
n
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and troubleshooting skills.

Desirable Skills
n
n
HashiCorp Vault and enterprise secrets management.
n
Ansible and infrastructure automation frameworks.
n
Telecommunications industry experience, including OSS/BSS integrations.
n
Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs and CAMARA standards.
n
Experience operating in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments.
n
Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
