About the Role
n
Our client is a leading technical services and building equipment organisation. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Service to lead and develop a national Service division from the office is South Sydney, near the Airport.
n
Reporting to the COO, you will take ownership of the Service P&L;, national strategy, performance and sustainable growth of the division. You will lead the Service Team Leader, with indirect leadership across Service Coordinators and Technicians nationally.
n
This is a strategic and commercial leadership position rather than a hands-on scheduling role. Your focus will be on improving profitability, service performance, systems, reporting and leadership capability across the function.
n
We are interested in leaders from similar technical service industries including automatic garage doors / gates, escalators, elevators, electrical maintenance, fault finding, repairs and other field service environments.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Own the national Service P&L;, budgets, forecasts and financial performance
n
Develop and execute the national Service strategy
n
Drive profitability, recurring service revenue and sustainable growth
n
Monitor revenue, margin, productivity, labour recovery and operational costs
n
Use reporting and data to identify risks and performance opportunities




n
Reduce warranty costs, repeat work, defects and avoidable service expenditure
n
Improve systems, processes and national service standards
n
Lead and develop the Service Team Leader and broader Service function
n
Partner with Sales, Installation, Supply Chain and Finance to improve performance
n
Maintain strong customer service, safety and compliance standards
n
n
About You
n
You will be an experienced Service or Operations leader with a strong commercial mindset and experience managing a technical field service function.
n
You will ideally bring:
n
n
Demonstrated P&L; ownership, budgeting and forecasting experience
n
Experience leading multi-site or multi-region field service operations
n
Exposure to preventative maintenance, breakdowns, fault finding and repairs
n
Robust commercial, analytical and performance management capability
n
Experience improving margin, productivity and operational efficiency
n
Proven leadership experience developing operational leaders
n
Experience within automatic doors, lifts, escalators, electrical maintenance or a similar technical industry will be highly regarded
n

The Opportunity
n
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a national Service function and play a key role in its continued growth.
n
The position is full time, working alongside the Service team. Interstate travel will be required as needed but is not expected to be a significant component of the role.
