We are looking for an experienced and passionate radio journalist to join our Nova Entertainment Network newsroom in a casual capacity, with opportunities to cover all networks.
n
We would prefer a local hire with solid knowledge of the Gosford and broader Central Coast community, who can identify and deliver stories that resonate with local audiences.
n
You will work independently but be fully supported by other newsreaders across the national team to ensure news content is current, accurate and consistent.

WorkingArrangements:

Ourcasualnewsreadersarerequiredtocoverleaveandbeavailableduring public holidaysandweekends(dependingonyouravailability).Youwillworkcloselywithouron-airteamsaswellastheNationalNewsroomOperationsManager,ProducersandAnnouncerstoensureonairnewscontentiscurrent,accurateandconsistentwithbrandstyle.

Asacasualyouwillstillhavetheresponsibilityfordeveloping,writingandeditingonairnewsbulletinsaswellasbulletinsforournewspodcastoffering"TheUpdate".You'llhavetomaintainthesmoothrunningofnewsbroadcastsbyensuringcontentiscompliantwithallbroadcastcodesofconduct.

Experience in a regional or metro radio newsroom (essential)
n
Passion for news and current affairs with a news presenting voice to suit the Nova brand
n
Strong understanding of local, national and international news affecting the community
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
n
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
n
Competent in broadcast systems
n
Effective time management and deadline management skills
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
NewsBoss and Zetta experience preferred
n
Accesstofirstclassequipment
n
