We're looking for an experienced Security Consultant to join a high-profile public sector digital platform programme on a contract basis.

About the Role
n
You'll play a key role in shaping and safeguarding the security posture of a major cloud-based data platform, working closely with architecture and engineering teams to ensure controls are robust, compliant, and fit for purpose in a government environment.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
Designing security controls across the platform, including IAM, Lake Formation, and data classification boundaries
n
Ensuring platform components meet government security and data handling requirements
n
Reviewing architectural decisions for security risk and providing documented sign-off for deployment
n
What We're Looking For
n




Robust hands‐on experience with AWS security architecture
n
Proven expertise in threat modelling and risk treatment
n
Solid background in security logging and monitoring
n
Practical experience with AWS IAM, Lake Formation, and Splunk
n
Active SC Clearance (essential)
n
Rate: £440 per day (inclusive of fees)
n
Clearance: SC Cleared required
n
Location: Flexible, with occasional travel to Newcastle or Leeds
n
Engagement type: Contract position
