Secure Hand / Ground Staff – Pinecliff, Mornington Peninsula

Pinecliff is a private thoroughbred training facility located between Mornington and Mount Eliza on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Home to Anthony & Sam Freedman Racing, Pinecliff provides a unique environment away from the traditional racecourse setting, allowing our horses to be trained in a relaxed and purpose-built environment.

Set across approximately 40 acres of picturesque grounds, Pinecliff is one of Victoria's premier thoroughbred training properties and features an 800m grass track, ****m sand track, sand arena, approximately 70 stables, horse swimming pool, treadmills, and direct access to the beach.

About the role
n
Working with approximately 50 horses, the primary purpose of this role is to assist with the day-to-day care, handling and welfare of our thoroughbreds.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Handling thoroughbreds of various ages and stages of their preparation
n
Feeding, grooming, rugging and general horse care
n




Mucking out boxes and maintaining stable areas
n
Tacking horses up and down before and after exercise
n
Assisting farriers and veterinarians when required
n
Monitoring horse health and reporting any concerns
n
Treating minor injuries and assisting with basic horse health care
n
General cleaning, tidying and upkeep of the stable and property
n
Maintaining the high standards of horse welfare expected at Freedman Racing
n
About you
n
At least two years' horse handling experience
n
Physically fit and comfortable working around thoroughbreds
n
Reliable and punctual
n
Able to follow instructions
n
Self-motivated and proactive
n
Observant with good attention to detail
n
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
n
