Are you passionate about supporting people to achieve positive change in their lives? Join The Salvation Army as a Support Worker and play an important role in creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment for people on their recovery journey.
n
Working within our participant-led model of care, you'll provide practical support, encouragement and connection to help participants build confidence, stability and independence.
n
What You'll Do
n
n
Provide a warm and responsive first point of contact for participants and respond appropriately to urgent needs.
n
Work alongside senior team members to identify, manage and prevent potential high-risk situations.
n
Facilitate daily programs and activities, including social activities, Spirit Lifter and information sessions.
n
Provide practical information, guidance and support based on individual participant needs.
n
Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage self-determination and active participation.
n
Support participants to implement their individual case plans in line with TSA's model of care.
n
Encourage participation in recovery goals and connect participants with appropriate services and community supports.
n
Contribute to activity risk assessments and communicate appropriate risk mitigation strategies to management.
n
Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all participants.
n

What You'll Bring
n
n
A relevant Certificate-level qualification; or Relevant industry experience and/or on-the-job training; or A relevant Diploma-level qualification.
n
Current First Aid Certificate.
n
Current Driver's Licence.
n
Blue Card (Working with Children Check) - required for Mt Isa and Townsville roles.
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
n
The ability to work collaboratively while also supporting participants to develop independence and self-determination.
n
