Job Title: Director of Creative Technology & AI

Salary: $165,000 – $180,000 AUD per annum + Superannuation (commensurate with experience)

About the role
n
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Creative Technology & AI to lead our technological innovation, drive commercial and operational strategies, and manage our dedicated team of AI and automation specialists.
n
In this role, you will bridge the gap between creative production, enterprise strategy, and artificial intelligence engineering. You will own the technology roadmap, design multi-stage creative workflows, steer client-facing AI solutions, and lead a high-performing team of technical contributors.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Strategic Leadership: Define and direct the agency-wide AI and creative technology roadmap, identifying commercial opportunities to drive revenue growth, improve client margin, and streamline operational efficiency.
n
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and direct a multidisciplinary team of AI specialists, prompt engineers, and workflow developers, establishing engineering standards, project milestones, and delivery cadences.
n
Creative & AI Architecture: Design and oversee the deployment of multi-stage AI systems, automated creative briefing tools, intelligent ad performance analytics,
and dynamic content generation pipelines.
n
Commercial & Stakeholder Advisory: Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, Creative Directors, Media Strategists, and enterprise clients to translate high-level business goals into scalable software and automation solutions.
n
Implementation & Governance: Direct vendor evaluation, API integrations, data security, and ethical AI governance across all production workflows and client deliverables.
n
Quality & Optimization: Define testing protocols, user acceptance criteria (UAT), and continuous feedback loops to ensure production outputs meet brand and performance benchmarks.
n
About you
n
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Creative Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent senior industry experience).
n
6+ years of progressive experience leading technology, AI, or digital workflow initiatives, ideally within an agency, media, or tech-enabled production setting.
n
Proven track record of managing and mentoring technical teams (AI developers, data specialists, software engineers).
n
Deep expertise in generative AI tools (LLMs, image/video generation models, multi-agent frameworks) and automated pipeline design.
n
Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to define ROI, scope technical budgets, and articulate technical value to executive stakeholders and clients.
n
Outstanding communication, change management, and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
