Our client is a well-established, privately owned investment firm based in Sydney CBD, with close to three decades of history and roughly $4.5 billion in assets under management. Lean, high-performing team of around 150 people. The firm is maturing its security and governance posture as it scales, without wanting to lose the speed and pragmatism that got it here.

THE ROLE
n
This is a newly created, single-incumbent role. You'll be the firm's hands-on onsite technology presence, working under the direction of an external security consultant to execute an ISO ***** uplift, while independently driving the next phase of AI adoption across the business. Microsoft Copilot is already live, the focus now is integrating further AI tooling and agent-based automation with the investment team.

This is a genuinely hands-on technical mandate, not a policy-writing exercise, with a realistic path to an IT Operations Manager role as the firm and its technology footprint grow.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
n
n
Day-to-day security controls across Microsoft 365: Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune device compliance, MFA and the identity lifecycle
n
Coordination with a managed EDR/SOC provider, triaging alerts and escalating incidents
n
Execution of the ISO *****:**** roadmap toward Maturity Level 3 (Defined), including audit evidence and documentation
n




The next phase of AI rollout beyond Copilot, including integration of additional AI platforms and agent-based tooling
n
Responsive onsite support across Microsoft 365, devices and core business applications
n
Device provisioning, patching and compliance through Intune
n

ABOUT YOU
n
n
Strong hands-on administration of Microsoft 365: Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive and Teams
n
Practical exposure to ISO ***** or a comparable security framework, applied pragmatically rather than rigidly
n
Genuine curiosity and hands-on comfort with AI tools, Copilot, and ideally some exposure to LLM platforms or agent-based automation
n
Comfortable working solo as the internal technology presence while collaborating with external partners
n
No specific industry background required, attitude and hands-on capability matter more than a finance CV
n
Relevant certifications (Microsoft SC-300/SC-900/MD-102/AZ-500, ISO ***** Foundation or Internal Auditor, Security+, CISSP/CISM) well regarded but not essential
n

$140,000 to $160,000 base plus superannuation, commensurate with experience
