The role
n ALS Environmental in Newcastle require full-time Micro Laboratory Technician to join our Microbiology team. The successful applicants will receive on-the-job training in the technical components and procedures of the role, and a wide variety of laboratory processes associated with working in a modern microbiological laboratory.
n
These are fulltime permanent position. Hours are from Sunday through to Thursday, with a long-term goal of working on a rotating roster.
n
Shifts will be Sunday 9am-1pm (negotiable), followed by Monday through to Thursday, 10:30am to 7.39pm OR Monday to Friday from 2pm and finishing at 10:15pm.

Responsibilities include:

Preparation and analysis of water, wastewater and receiving waters
n
Preparation and analysis of microbiological samples
n
Preparation and analysis of inorganic samples
n
Organising designated tasks for efficiency
n
Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour
n
n
About you:
n
n




Tertiary qualifications or Certificate in Laboratory techniques
n
Experience with and understanding of NATA requirements desirable
n
Diligent in dealing with data and details and intermediate knowledge of MS applications
n
Customer focussed and a collaborative team player
n
Flexibility to meet our changing business needs
n
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
n
Solid organisational skills to manage competing and changing priorities
n
