Job Description
I'm currently working with a highly regarded specialist engineering consultancy to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Sydney team. This is a genuinely hands‐on role, working across large-scale Class 2 residential and commercial developments, with a particular focus on structural risk assessment, building diagnostics, forensic investigation and remediation.

The opportunity You'll be involved in:

n
Conducting structural inspections, investigations and site assessments across construction and completed buildings
n
Undertaking desktop reviews and risk assessments of structural drawings, identifying potential design and construction risks
n
Investigating defects including concrete cancer, movement, façade issues and waterproofing failures
n
Developing structural remediation, strengthening and rectification designs
n
Preparing technical reports, specifications and expert witness documentation
n
Working closely with clients, builders and other project stakeholders to communicate complex structural issues clearly
n




Ensuring designs and recommendations align with Australian Standards, NCC and relevant NSW legislation
n

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer looking to move into a specialist role with significant technical ownership and exposure to complex, high‐value projects.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
6–8+ years' structural engineering experience, with strong exposure to Class 2 developments and a background in remediation, forensic engineering, building diagnostics or structural assessment.
n
A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required, with CPEng/NPEng or Registered Design Practitioner (DBP) experience highly desirable.
n
Strong knowledge of concrete pathology, waterproofing, strengthening techniques, Australian Standards and NCC is key, alongside excellent technical report‐writing and communication skills.
