Pasta Chef for new Italian Restaurant in Miami

Sylvs is seeking an experienced and passionate Pasta Chef to join our exciting new Italian restaurant opening in Miami, QLD ****. This is a full-time position where you will take centre stage in our kitchen, specialising in the creation of authentic, high-quality pasta dishes that will become the signature offerings of our establishment. As Pasta Chef, you will play a crucial role in defining the culinary identity of our restaurant and ensuring that every dish meets our exacting standards of excellence. This is an opportunity to showcase your expertise in traditional Italian pasta‐making techniques whilst contributing to the growth and success of a vibrant new dining venue.

What you'll be doing
n
Creating and preparing fresh pasta dishes daily, including hand‐rolled and shaped varieties, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation
n
Developing and refining pasta recipes that reflect authentic Italian culinary traditions whilst accommodating contemporary dining preferences
n
Managing pasta preparation stations and maintaining a clean, organised and effective kitchen workspace
n
Overseeing the quality of all pasta‐based dishes before they leave the kitchen, ensuring they meet the restaurant's high standards
n
Collaborating with the head chef and kitchen team to design specials and seasonal pasta offerings
n
Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff in pasta preparation techniques and food safety protocols
n
Sourcing and selecting premium ingredients for pasta production,



working within budget parameters
n
Maintaining accurate records of food costs and portion control
n
Adhering to all food safety, hygiene and health regulations at all times
n
What we're looking for
n
Proven experience as a Pasta Chef or Cook specialising in pasta preparation, ideally within a fine dining or acclaimed Italian restaurant
n
Advanced knowledge of traditional Italian pasta‐making techniques, including hand‐rolling, shaping and drying methods
n
Strong understanding of authentic Italian cuisine and regional pasta specialities
n
Excellent knife skills and proficiency with pasta‐making equipment and tools
n
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
n
Food safety certification and current knowledge of health and hygiene regulations
n
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
n
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working collaboratively in busy kitchen environments
n
Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to continuous improvement and creativity
n
Flexibility to work evenings,



weekends and public holidays as required in the hospitality industry
