About the Role
n
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Mental Health Clinician will deliver high-quality intake and mental health response to young people local to the Meekatharra area. Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Increase client access to services by providing care through a flexible model of service, conducting sessions as and where appropriate and safe for both client and practitioner (including groups where suitable)
n
Work closely with young people, their families, and community services to ensure safe and high-quality care practices during the engagement, assessment, and service delivery
n
Conduct initial screening assessments and deliver effective and culturally appropriate therapeutic intervention and care coordination including assistance in the referral of young people to other service providers.
n
Participate in regular clinical case review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate clinical service pathways and service delivery
n
Represent Youth Focus at external community events to strengthen relationships with local stakeholders and young people
n
Capacity to work flexibly to meet the needs of the community
n

About You
n
To be considered for this position, applicants will have:
n
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work,
Psychology, OT, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling) and current full
registration/membership
with a professional body
n
A passion for working with young people and working in regional/remote communities
n
Extensive experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and awareness of cultural protocols when consulting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
n
Experience in providing clinical and early intervention services to young people and families, including undertaking screening and assessment to determine a young person's needs and level of risk
n
Proficiency and experience in using electronic recording systems and database applications
n
Team player and have the confidence to communicate effectively with a range of diverse individuals and enjoy working to achieve the desired outcomes of the organisation
n
A current 'C' class Driver's Licence
n
