Mellow Johnny's is opening a brand‐new licensed Pizzeria, Café and Dessert Bar in Bunyip and we're looking for an experienced Pizza Chef to join us from the very beginning (opening expected late Sept / early Oct). This is a rare opportunity to help shape a current venue, work with top‐tier equipment and grow your career as the business expands.

Our kitchen is being built around precision, consistency and quality. With a state‐of‐the‐art electric oven offering stable temperatures, fast recovery times and exceptional bake control, you'll have the tools to produce outstanding pizzas every shift.

What You'll Do
n

Control all aspects of dough preparation.
n
Stretch, top and cook pizzas from start to finish.
n
Set up and maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
n
Deliver high‐quality food during busy service periods.
n
Assist with prep, stock rotation, ingredient management and kitchen organisation.
n
Uphold strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
n
Contribute ideas for specials, menu development and continuous improvement.
n
Help build a positive, supportive kitchen culture in a brand‐new venue.
n

Skills and Experience Required
n
n
Experience working in an Italian restaurant or pizza section preferred
n




Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
n
Ability to work efficiently in a team‐based kitchen environment
n
Strong attention to quality, consistency, and presentation
n
n
What We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience in a pizza or high‐volume commercial kitchen.
n
Strong dough‐handling skills and confidence operating commercial electric pizza ovens.
n
Ability to work cleanly, efficiently and calmly under pressure.

Good communication skills and a team‐focused attitude.

Reliability, professionalism and pride in presentation and consistency.

Willingness to work rotating rosters, including weekends and public holidays.
