Our client is a well-established independent communications agency with a reputation for bold, creative campaign work and a team culture built on backing each other in. Independently owned and unapologetically hands-on, they're looking to appoint a Senior Account Manager into their Melbourne PR team.
n
This is a role for someone already operating confidently at SAM level, or a strong Account Manager ready to take on greater client ownership and lead junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Take day-to-day ownership of a portfolio of client accounts, managing campaigns end-to-end, on time and on budget
n
Provide considered client counsel, managing expectations, budgets and scope with confidence
n
Develop and drive media strategy with minimal direction, leveraging strong national media relationships to secure meaningful coverage
n
Write and deliver across all PR formats — releases, backgrounders, pitches, proposals and client presentations
n
Mentor and set direction for Account Executives, Coordinators and interns
n




Identify organic growth opportunities within existing accounts and contribute to new business pitches
n
Work closely with the Head of PR and Senior Account Director on planning and agency-wide initiatives
n
n
You should have:
n
n
4+ years' PR and communications experience, agency environment strongly preferred
n
A genuine and current national media network, with a track record of placing stories
n
Demonstrated ability to run multiple campaigns concurrently without dropping detail
n
Strong writing across a range of formats, with meticulous attention to detail
n
Experience managing client budgets and commercial conversations
n
Early people-management experience — briefing, reviewing and developing junior staff
n
Tertiary qualifications in public relations, communications, marketing or a related discipline
n
A hands-on, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to bring fresh thinking to the table
n
n
This is a permanent, full time role with hybrid flexibility, based in Melbourne's inner south-east. It suits someone who wants real client ownership and visible influence over the work, rather than another layer of process.
