Indian Curry & Tandoor Chef – Full Time | Sponsorship & JRP Available

Embers Fusion Indian Restaurant is seeking an experienced Indian Curry & Tandoor Chef to join our professional kitchen team in Shellharbour. We operate a large, busy Indian restaurant with a high-volume kitchen, so we are looking for a chef who is confident working under pressure while maintaining consistency, presentation and quality. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef looking for stable, long-term employment and career progression.

Key responsibilities
n
Prepare and cook a wide range of traditional Indian curries, sauces and gravies
n
Operate the tandoor and prepare naan breads, tikkas, kebabs and other tandoori dishes
n
Maintain consistency in taste, portioning and presentation
n
Complete food preparation and mise en place for service
n
Work efficiently during high-volume lunch and dinner services
n
Follow recipes, portion controls and kitchen procedures
n
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
n
Assist with stock rotation, storage and minimising food wastage
n
Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team
n
Assist across different kitchen sections when required
n
About you
n
Previous skilled experience as an Indian Curry Chef and/or Tandoor Chef
n




Strong knowledge of authentic Indian cooking techniques, spices, marinades and gravies
n
Experience operating a commercial tandoor
n
Ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment
n
Strong attention to food quality and consistency
n
Good communication and teamwork skills
n
A reliable, professional and hardworking attitude
n
Knowledge of Australian food safety and hygiene requirements
n
Australian commercial kitchen experience is highly regarded
