Onyx Detailed Joinery is expanding, and we are looking for a Cabinet Maker / Joiner to join our growing team.
n
We welcome applications from qualified cabinet makers/joiners and apprentices of all stages, from 1st year through to 4th year, who are looking to develop their skills within a high‐end custom joinery environment.

About the Role
n
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and is keen to be part of a team producing high‐quality custom joinery.
n
This is a permanent full‐time position based at our Unanderra factory.
n
n
Permanent full‐time position
n
38 hours per week
n
Factory based in Unanderra, close to public transport
n
n
n
Work alongside experienced cabinet makers and joiners
n
Reporting to the Production Manager
n
n
Remuneration & Benefits
n
We offer competitive remuneration based on experience, skill level and qualifications.
n
Qualified Cabinet Maker / Joiner: $30–$45 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and level of responsibility.
n
Apprentices:



Remuneration will be discussed based on the apprentice's current year, previous experience, skills and knowledge. We welcome apprentices at all stages of their apprenticeship, from 1st through to 4th year.
n
In addition to your base rate, the position includes overtime opportunities, applicable allowances and superannuation.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Read and interpret detailed plans and drawings
n
Construct and assemble custom joinery components
n
Work with a range of materials including timber, laminate, veneer and solid surfaces
n
Produce high‐quality custom joinery to project specifications
n
Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within project timeframes
n
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
n
Work collaboratively with the wider production and installation team
n
n
Qualified Cabinet Makers / Joiners
n
For qualified tradespeople, we are looking for someone with experience in custom cabinet making and joinery who can confidently work from detailed plans and take pride in producing quality work.
n
Desirable:
n
n
3–4+ years' experience in cabinet making / joinery
n
Strong knowledge of cabinet construction and joinery techniques
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
n
Good communication and problem‐solving skills
n




Manual driver's licence
n
Forklift licence is desirable but not essential
n
Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a growing team
n
n
Apprentices – All Years Welcome
n
We are also looking for motivated apprentices at any stage of their apprenticeship, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th years.
n
Whether you're just starting out or nearing completion of your apprenticeship, this is an opportunity to gain hands‐on experience and develop your skills within a professional, high‐end joinery environment.
n
You will work alongside experienced tradespeople and have the prospect to gain experience across a variety of bespoke residential and commercial projects.
n

Previous factory, woodworking or joinery experience is advantageous but not essential
