Job Description
A beloved household name has a rare opportunity for a Lead Property Lawyer to join its established in-house legal team. This is a genuine people leadership prospect, with responsibility for mentoring, coaching and developing an established team of 8+ property lawyers, supporting performance and capability uplift, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Alongside the leadership remit, you'll remain hands-on across a significant national property portfolio, acting as a senior escalation point on complex matters and providing strategic, commercially focused advice across the full property development lifecycle.

The role will include:

Leading and advising on freehold and leasehold acquisitions, agreements for lease, development agreements and complex leasing arrangements
n
Providing end-to-end legal support across development, planning, construction, design, portfolio and asset management
n
Advising on construction contracts and associated disputes
n
Acting as a senior escalation point on complex property matters, balancing legal risk with commercial outcomes
n




Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide pragmatic advice that supports growth and speed-to-market
n
Mentoring and developing lawyers, driving capability uplift, knowledge sharing and consistent legal standards across the team
n
Identifying opportunities to improve legal processes, templates, policies and governance
n
Supporting new ways of working and the use of technology to improve efficiency and consistency across the team
n
