Kardex AutoStore is seeking a motivated self-starter to be in the role of Engineering Manager - Projects. This full time position is to be based in either Sydney and shall report to the Regional Director of Operations APAC AutoStore.

The Engineer Manager – Projects' main target is the management of AutoStore projects from contract to final acceptance. In close cooperation with sales, he contributes already in-the-sales phase to the potential project with his know how and experience. He supports a smooth transition from the sales into the implementation phase and later into the service phase. He/she shall be comfortable working in a startup environment and is open for a wide range of tasks at different locations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

End-to-End Delivery: Manage AutoStore projects from contract signing to final customer acceptance.
n
Planning & Budgeting: Establish, implement, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and engineering strategies.
n
Process Improvement: Introduce lean project organizations, standard design solutions, and productive templates or calculation tools.
n
Financial Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to financially improve project margins during execution.
n
Stakeholder & Client Relations
n
Sales Collaboration: Support project sales and ensure smooth transitions from sales to realization and service.
n
Client Advisory: Maintain constant customer communication, evaluate project changes, and negotiate solutions.
n
Cross-Functional Alignment: Liaise with marketing, research, and manufacturing managers on engineering aspects and solution design.
n
Technical & Quality Leadership
n
Operations Oversight: Direct, coordinate and optimize engineering and technical operations across the organization.
n
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all plans and specifications conform to laws, regulations, and safety standards.
n
Technical Review: Interpret drawings and advise on construction, production, and maintenance methods.
n
Innovation: Contribute to research and development projects to differentiate solution offerings.
n
Team Development
n
Onboarding & Training: Train, onboard, and support new colleagues locally and across other locations.
n
REQUIREMENTS
n
Education: Tertiary qualification in Business administration or technical degree in engineering or a similar field.
n
Minimum 5 years' experience with project management.
n
Proven portfolio of managed projects.
n
Experience with project and team management.
n
Detailed understanding of logistics and IT processes.
n
Microsoft office suite knowledge including OneNote.
n
English – fluent (both spoken and written).
n
Travel within the region – High.
