Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The prospect
n
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisors responsible for leading and providing technical expertise to the KML Mechanical Maintenance teams and Contractor Trades Personnel.
n
This position operates on an 8 days on and 6 days off / 7 nights on and 7 days off roster.
n
To be successful in the role, the following is essential:
n
n
Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence
n
Tickets: Confined Spaces & Working at Heights
n
Must have completed Section 26 training to ensure compliance with relevant safety and operations standards
n
Strong supervision experience leading a medium to large teams
n
Sound knowledge of maintenance management, strategy development and implementationDemonstrated ability to develop, plan and execute maintenance activities in a deadline driven environment
n
Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
n
Facilitating problem solving and Root cause investigations
n
National Police clearance
n
n

Key Duties:
n
n
Lead and coach the Mechanical Maintenance team
n
Collaborate with the team to improve maintenance systems, processes, and procedures
n
Prioritise work to meet business needs while maximising safety and production outcomes
n
Manage rosters to ensure adequate site coverage and arrange contractor support when required
n
Review and approve daily work plans, Take 5s, JHAs, and risk assessments before work begins
n
Conduct post-outage inspections and quality audits on critical maintenance tasks
n
Identify and report process improvement opportunities, recommending corrective actions where needed
n
Ensure Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) are completed and provide guidance as required
n
Communicate shift issues and incidents in line with Incident Management Procedures
n
Assist with shutdown planning, including labour, equipment, tools, and work scopes
n
