About the Role
n
We are seeking two School Psychologists to join our Wellbeing team in ****, supporting the mental health, wellbeing and development of students across Middle and Senior School.
n
We have the following opportunities available:
n
n
School Psychologist – Full-time12-month maximum-term contract
n
School Psychologist – 0.6 FTE 6-month maximum-term contract
n
n
Working closely with the Director of Wellbeing and School leadership, you will provide high-quality psychological support, counselling, assessment and intervention for students across the Middle and Senior School years.
n
You will work collaboratively with students, families, teachers and external health professionals to ensure students receive appropriate and responsive support.
n

Key Focus Areas
n
n
Provide individual and group counselling and psychological support to students across Middle and Senior School.
n
Assess, identify and respond to students experiencing mental health, wellbeing, behavioural or learning challenges.
n
Administer and interpret appropriate psychometric and clinical assessments and provide clear reports and recommendations.
n
Case manage students with significant wellbeing and mental health concerns, including supporting transitions and referrals to external services.
n




Work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, Access and Inclusion staff, School leadership and external clinicians to develop appropriate support and interventions.
n
Facilitate group programs addressing areas such as resilience, social skills, emotional regulation and anger management.
n
Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students across the Middle and Senior Schools.
n
Develop and deliver relevant information sessions and professional learning for students, parents and staff.
n
Support applications for reasonable adjustments and contribute to inclusive practices.
n
Participate in the Crisis Response Team, professional supervision and the broader co-curricular life of the School.
n
Promote a strong child-safe culture and ensure all safeguarding and mandatory reporting responsibilities are upheld.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements
n
The successful applicants will have:
n
n
Appropriate qualifications in Psychology and registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Psychology Board of Australia .
n
Substantial experience in counselling and psychological support, ideally with children and young people.
n
Demonstrated experience in psychological assessment, including the administration and interpretation of psychometric assessments.
n
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organisational skills.
n
The ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff and external professionals.
n
Strong case management and clinical communication skills.
n
A commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion and child safety.
n
Experience working within a school setting is desirable.
n
The ability to contribute positively to a collaborative Wellbeing team.
n
An ability to engage respectfully with and support the values and philosophy of The Friends' School.
n
