Job Description
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a critical role in supporting scientific exchange and medical engagement across multiple products and therapy areas, with a primary focus on oncology. This field-based role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate evidence-based discussions, gather medical insights, and support initiatives that improve patient outcomes. The MSL will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide scientific expertise and contribute to the execution of the medical strategy across oncology and other specialty therapy areas.

This field-based role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and relevant stakeholders to facilitate evidence-based discussions, gather medical insights, and support initiatives that improve patient outcomes. The MSL will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to provide scientific expertise and contribute to the execution of the medical strategy across oncology and other specialty therapy areas.

Key Accountabilities
n
n
Build and maintain ethical, peer-to-peer relationships with external experts, including oncologists, haematologists, specialist physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
n
Develop strong partnerships with KOLs and key stakeholders within oncology and relevant specialty care therapeutic areas.
n
Gather and communicate actionable medical insights to support medical strategy, evidence generation, and patient care initiatives.
n
Support advisory boards, scientific meetings, educational programs, and congress activities.
n
Provide balanced, accurate, and up-to-date scientific and medical information in response to unsolicited requests.
n
n
Medical Planning & Execution
n
n
Develop and maintain scientific and medical expertise in oncology and other relevant specialty therapy areas, including rheumatology & immunology, gastroenterology, rare diseases, and neurology.
n
Engage with KOLs, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to build partnerships and establish the product's scientific credibility.
n
Map treatment pathways and protocols within hospitals and healthcare settings.
n
Conduct scientific exchange with healthcare professionals to support evidence-based practices and place in therapy.
n
Ensure the appropriate and compliant dissemination of scientific data and medical information.
n
Provide medical training and education to internal teams, including the sales and marketing team as required.
n
Develop and deliver medical presentations and facilitate discussions at key medical meetings and conferences.
n

Medical Support & Customer Engagement
n
n
Provide insights to the cross functional team in support of quality use of Link's anti-infectives products.
n
Support medical education activities, including symposia, webinars, and key opinion leader (KOL) engagements.
n
Attend scientific conferences, medical meetings and institutional engagement to represent Link Healthcare's scientific interests appropriately.
n
Provide therapeutic area training and scientific support to cross-functional colleagues in accordance with company and country policies as required.
n

Regulatory & Compliance
n
n
Escalate any adverse events reports, product quality complaints, or compliance concerns to the appropriate pathways within required timelines.
n
Participate in and complete audits, training and compliance processes as required by company and/or regulatory requirements within required timelines and as per ethical standards.
n
n
Key Competencies and Skills 1. Strategic Planning & Execution

Medical Plan Implementation – Contribute to the on-time creation and support per plan execution of annual medical plans, in alignment with cross-functional objectives.
n

2 Medical Support & Customer Engagement
n
n
Insights – Deliver at least 6 actionable insights per month. Insights should be of suitable quality to share with Link Healthcare's alliance partner.
n
Conference & Event Participation – Ensure strong medical presence at all major industry conferences relevant to the product portfolio.
n
n
3. Regulatory & Compliance
n
n
Compliance Adherence – Ensure 100% compliance with Medicines Australia Code of Conduct, regulatory requirements,
and internal SOPs.
n
n
4. Financial & Performance Management
n
n
Budget Management – Ensure sufficient advance travel planning to ensure optimal availability, cost- effectiveness and alignment with travel policies.
n
n
Knowledge, Compliance & Regulatory:
n
n
Ensure all medical activities align with Australian Antimicrobial Stewardship principals, company policies, industry regulations, and Medicines Australia/Medicines New Zealand codes.
n
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Link Healthcare's standard operating procedures and policies and ensure compliance at all time
n
Comply with Link Pharmacovigilance requirements as per training
n
Ensure that duties are carry out in adherence to GCP regulations
n
Ensure every team member can work in a safe and healthy work environment
n
Contributes to a Quality-focused mindset; Quality is everyone's responsibility
n

Administration
n
n
Ensure filing and documentation is up-to-date and in compliant with standard processes and formats.
n
Complete required reports within designated timeframes (e.g. expenses, product samples etc.)
n
Participate in meetings as needed
n
Liaise with management and staff to ensure projects are conducted efficiently
n
Communicate with staff & management using proper channels
n
n

Requirements
n
n
Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline (BPharm, MPharm, PharmD, PhD, MD).
n
1-2 years of Medical Affairs experience preferred.
n
Field Medical experience with demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with KOLs, preferably in oncology.
n
Experience in oncology is strongly preferred.
n
Experience in rheumatology & immunology, gastroenterology, rare diseases, and/or neurology would be highly regarded.
n
Excellent scientific communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
