Avon Valley Abattoir (Prime Meat Processors Pty Ltd) is currently seeking meat workers/Labourers to join our Irishtown team

We are looking for applications from people who are able to start early mornings and be reliable. Areas that you may be working in include Slaughter Floor, Stock Yards or Offal & By-product with ability to go where needed. This is a physically demanding role and you must bring to the role a Can Do attitude.

About the Role:
stuns and kills livestock;
prepares carcasses for further processing by removing internal organs and hides;
washes, scrapes and trims foreign material and blood from meat;
operates restrainer and stunning equipment;
severs jugular veins of stunned animals to drain blood and facilitate dressing;
trims and removes head meat and severs animal heads;
slits open, eviscerates and trims animal carcasses; and
may slaughter livestock according to procedures required by religious customs.

processing of offal and by-products





Candidate Requirements:
Reliable & punctual
previous meat production experience is desirable but not required
Knife skills desirable but not essential
A willingness to learn current skills
Able to work in an abattoir setting
Be able to work as part of a team
Attention to detail
Physical fitness
Willing to sit Drug & Alcohol test

What we Offer:
Working Monday to Friday with some Saturday work
