About the role
n
Be the friendly face of Council and help make things happen. As a key first point of contact, you'll deliver high-quality customer service in person, by phone and email, process payments, and help the community access Council services.
n
Alongside frontline service, you'll support Council's customer service and records management systems: maintaining accurate data and records, troubleshooting system issues, assisting staff with digital systems, and helping improve information management. You don't need to be an IT specialist, but you should be confident with technology and quick to learn.
n
This role suits an experienced customer service qualified with excellent communication, strong computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and solution‐focused when busy. Experience with business systems, training others, or local government is highly regarded.
n
n
Demonstrated experience in customer service, administration, or a related field.
n
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
n
Proficiency using computer systems, including Microsoft Office and customer management software.
n
Strong problem‐solving skills and ability to think critically under pressure.
n
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
n
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
n
Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
n
Willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development.
n
Class C driver's licence.
n
n
It is a plus if you have experience in local government or public sector roles, familiarity with council software (e.g. Pathway, TechOne, Authority), and basic IT troubleshooting/systems support.
n

n
