The Position
n
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join a Brisbane-based organisation for an initial six-month contract, supporting the business through an important period of growth, transformation and operational change.
n
Working closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, the CFO will provide strong commercial and financial leadership across a multi-site operation. This is a hands-on executive role requiring someone who can quickly understand the business, provide clarity around performance and priorities, and help position the organisation for its next phase of growth.
n
Leading a small finance team, you will balance strategic leadership with the ability to get close to the detail when required.
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n

Providing strategic financial and commercial advice to the CEO, ELT and Board.
n
Leading the finance function and developing a capable, engaged and commercially focused team.
n
Supporting the broader business transformation and growth agenda, identifying opportunities to improve performance, capability and scalability.
n
Providing financial oversight across a multi-site operating environment, with a strong focus on visibility, consistency and accountability.
n
Strengthening budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis to support better decision-making.
n
Reviewing financial processes, systems,



controls and reporting frameworks and implementing practical improvements.
n
Providing commercial insight into business performance, investment decisions and growth opportunities.
n
Supporting the Board and relevant committees with high-quality financial reporting, analysis and advice.
n
Working collaboratively across the organisation to improve financial capability and commercial discipline.
n

The Person
n
You will be an accomplished senior finance executive with experience operating as a CFO, Finance Director or senior commercial finance leader within a complex operational environment.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
A track record of supporting organisations through growth, transformation or significant change.
n
Strong commercial capability combined with sound technical finance, governance and risk expertise.
n
Experience working directly with Boards, CEOs and executive leadership teams.
n
The ability to lead and develop a small finance team while remaining comfortable operating hands-on when required.
n
Robust communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior decision-makers.
n
The ability to quickly assess an organisation, establish priorities and deliver tangible outcomes within a defined contract period.
n
