Job Description
Mater Hospital Brisbane's Oncology Ward (10B) has an exciting opportunity for two passionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join the team on a permanent part-time basis, working 32hrs per week (0.80 FTE).

Be part of the dedicated team at the Level 10 Oncology Ward of Mater Hospital Brisbane, a specialised 28-bed unit providing compassionate, around-the-clock care to patients facing cancer. This unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring continuous support and expert nursing care in a dynamic and supportive workplace.

Salary range: $***** - $***** per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you'll be doing
n
As a Registered Nurse, you will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, willingness to facilitate and encourage cohesive, positive professional relationships and be required to demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve patient care outcomes relevant to the ward.

Assess patient conditions, create comprehensive nursing care plans, and monitor patients' progress throughout their treatment
n
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients
n
Offer emotional support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing education on treatment options and side effects
n
Document patient information accurately, including medical history, medications, and treatment plans
n
Maintain a safe and clean working environment,
adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards
n
Participate in ongoing professional development activities, staying up to date with the latest advancements in oncology nursing practices
n

About you
n
To be considered for this position, you will have:
n
n
Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions)
n
Have advanced clinical competency and experience within an Oncology area
n
Have demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills
n
Have the ability to function within a multidisciplinary team environment
n
Previous experience with administering chemotherapy and experience with CVADS is desirable however not required. If no experience, willingness to acquire the skill
n
n
You will have strong leadership ability and experience, excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to promote the philosophy and values of Mater to all staff.
